Hello + Welcome. I'm Sue Knox, the owner and instructor at Woodruff Riding School. I am a life long avid horse-person with over 40 years of horsemanship experience.  After managing Woodruff Shires and Warmbloods LLC's breeding and training operation for 20+ years, I wanted to commit my energy to sharing my passion for horses as a full time Instructor. 

I became certified by the American Riding Instructors Association in 2008 in Stable Management and Hunt Seat Equitation Over Fences.  I consider myself a patient and calm instructor, an excellent communicator, and am very experienced with both young horses and young riders.  Our program is blessed to have several incredible ponies that love their work of teaching people to ride!

The focus of our instruction at Woodruff Riding School is the formation of sound basics and good horsemanship.  We believe that, when paired with the correct pony or horse, you can learn how to be a confident and secure rider, while building your skill-set AND your relationship with the horse(s). It is a physical, social, and emotional experience. We love to see the relationships between fellow riders and ponies and horses (and barn cats!) blossom here at the barn.
